Chip used#

The regulator is based on the TI TPS63070 chip, offering:

  • Maximum output current: 2A in boost or buck mode

  • Efficiency: Up to 95%

  • DC voltage accuracy: ± 1% (± 3% with light load)

  • Quiescent current: 50 µA

  • Low voltage ripple:

  • 30 mV in PWM mode

  • 50 mV in PFM mode (no load or light load)

Features and specs#

The provided board can be powered directly by a voltage source between 2.5V and 16V. A VSEL pin allows selecting the fixed output voltage: 3.3V by default or 5V when VSEL is set high. VSEL can be toggled during operation.

This module is ideal for prototyping needs or for direct integration into robotic applications. It includes protections against over-temperature and excessive output voltage, but does not include protection against negative voltages.

Board Characteristics

  • Dimensions: 14.2mm x 13mm x 1.6mm

  • Input power: 2.5-16V

  • Output power: 3.3V, 5V

Wiring#

Input voltage has to be provided from direct soldering VIN and GND inputs. The input voltage can not be under 2.5V or above 16V (risk of damaging the device).

_images/sysrox_nano_buck_boost_wiring.png

The output voltage is 3.3V by default and can be set to 5V with setting the VSEL pad to high (VSEL > 3.3V)

Current capacities#

The maximum current it can delivers is 2A but precise regulation can not be ensured in all operating points. This operating points have been tested
